We recently caught up with former Point boss and here is what he has had to say about facing his former club this weekend;
“I am delighted to be returning to Milltown this week for the first time since taking the manager’s position at Cliftonville FC. So far, my time a the reds has been very challenging just most enjoyable. After a poor start to the season we seemed to have uncovered a run of form recently that has allowed us to climb a few places in the table and possibly look at challenging in the top section. I am under no illusions about how difficult Saturdays game will be and we will approach the game with caution as we are only too aware of the threat that Warrenpoint hold. When I was manager at Warrenpoint we held a very positive record against Cliftonville so this is something that I will have to now try and break.
Over all the years I spent at Milltown I have gained many friends and this week it will be nice to see them all and catch up, but unfortunately I will be there to work and hopefully win so it will be extremely strange for me indeed.
Warrenpoint have had a few big wins over the last month or so and I have no doubt tippy will have his men fired up for the game, as I said already this will be an extremely tightly fought game and I just hope we can come out on top.
After this game i would like wish everyone at Warrenpoint all the very best for the Christmas period, hoping they can pick up as many wins as possible, just not against the reds.”
