Warrenpoint Town v Coleraine
We always knew it was going to be a tough test travelling down to Coleraine who have been in fine form. Although we lost I believe that there is a lot of positives we can take from the game. I believe that this was our best performance so far even though we didn’t take the points. Every player worked hard all over the pitch, and even when we went down to 10 men we still worked hard and continued to create chances. On another day, we may have held on for a point or even got the 3. You can see that we are improving with each game and the team is continuing to gel and coming along together nicely. So, I believe that we are moving in the right direction. I would like to thank all the supporters for travelling down and cheering us on. We need and appreciate all the support we can get for each game.
Lurgan Celtic & Glentoran game
Moving on to our next game which is against Lurgan Celtic in the league cup. I believe that this is a game that we are well capable of winning. We must not underestimate our opponents, as they have not been beaten in the league this season. We must stay tight at the back and concentrate for the full 90 minutes. If we continue to work hard and create chances, the goals will come. It would be nice to have a good cup run like last season. Playing in the cup also gives more players the chance to show what they are capable of, and gives everyone a chance to fight for their place on the team. We also play away to Glentoran this weekend which will be no easy task as they are also playing well and unbeaten in the league this season. Like last Saturday, I believe we need to stay tight and compact and work hard for the full 90 minutes and see what happens. As we are playing 2 games this week, it is important that we recover properly to ensure we are performing at the best of our ability for both games.
