“We need to be more clinical in-front of goal” Stevie Moan Dec 04, 2017

Cliftonville Review

I think we started the game off brightly and there was a good buzz around the ground. It also was good to have Jonny Parr back in goal who was exceptional.  We had a few great opportunities in the opening stages of the game that we did not convert. We switched off and conceded the first goal. We got back into the game whenever Mackle scored a spectacular goal lobbing the opposing goalkeeper. Unfortunately, we conceded another goal when they hit a long ball over the top. I think that we played nice football in the first half and created many chances. Once they got their second goal a few heads dropped, and we did not create many chances in the second half. They got a third in the closing stages of the game due to some slack defending from ourselves. I think that we could have come away with something if we converted the big chances we had. I believe that we will get more points on the board if we convert more of the chances we are creating. We need to be more clinical in front of goal as teams are not missing big chances against us. However, we can take a few positives from this game and abit of confidence as we are playing good football and creating chances.

Crusaders Preview

We need to look ahead to this Saturday where we face Crusaders at home. I think we need to go into this game with a good attitude. As I stated earlier, we need to be more clinical in front of goal and convert our chances. Crusaders are currently sitting second in the table and have been playing some good football. If we have the right attitude and show some determination we can maybe nick something from this game. We have a few tough games coming up, so it is important we are getting good training sessions in and the recovery needed
